五月天「不按牌理出牌」推出《女也herstory with Mayday》專輯，收錄10首該團16年來的經典歌曲，但並非五月天演唱，而是由10組女歌手重新詮釋。對此，唱片公司說：「由五月天邀10組女歌手合作，再讓她們自行挑選喜歡的歌，重新製作演繹。」
為何有此構想？五月天表示，以前都是「５個臭男生」在唱，這次特別找來10組「神級女聲」來替他們發聲，五月天則堅守「三不一沒有」原則：不涉入選歌、不提供意見、不限制唱法，且讓女歌手們「改編沒極限」，給參與的音樂人最大空間，但唯一限制為「一定要是女生」。
相信音樂13日釋出30秒影片，邀聽眾猜10組女歌手是誰，吊足外界胃口，短短12小時已超過22萬人次轉發該影片，吸引十多萬網友「聽聲辨人」，S.H.E、莫文蔚、徐佳瑩、劉若英等女聲紛紛入列，但沒人猜中完整名單。
唱片公司16日也曝光首位參與的「她」，是由金曲歌后林憶蓮重新改編演唱〈盛夏光年〉；其餘名單將在專輯26日發行前，全數公布。
